Gordon + Killara Golf Courses Sustainable Water Management

STORM was engaged by Ku-ring-gai Council to investigate the feasibility of combined sewer mining (treating sewage from the sewer mains locally) and stormwater harvesting.  These golf courses represent substantial assets which can only maintained with ongoing irrigation through any water restrictions.  STORM set up a water balance model to determine the best system combination and we were able to recommend a cost-saving solution that integrated the scheme over the two courses.  STORM also assessed the sustainable application of salts and nutrients from the treated sewage effluent with a view to protecting waterways in the adjacent Lane Cove National Park.
